Thales Norway has extensive knowledge in the field of C2 systems for troops. For a decade we have collaborated with the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment to develop the NORMANS C2 soldier system. As the prime industrial partner and system integrator Thales Norway has now delivered industrialized NORMANS C2 soldier systems for one company. Thales has, in collaboration with Teleplan, developed and industrialized the NORMANS C2 soldier system according to the needs and specifications of the Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI) and the Telemark Battalion (TmBn). Thales has integrated existing soldier equipment with state-of-the-art information terminals and provided the soldier with a complete and integrated system. The system gives the soldiers a superior situational awareness by providing blue force tracking, navigation, target hand-off, and text messaging. The system enables the soldiers to plan and complete operations with impressive precision and efficiency. FFI has designed the NORMANS concept and tested it thoroughly together with TmBn. The improvement in combat effectiveness and security for the soldier is well documented by FFI.
