Training and simulation
| Providing solutions to enhance safety and security in key sectors. The synthetic training systems and services provided by Thales for defence, transport, energy and aerospace applications prepare both individuals and teams to face the most demanding challenges of the day. As well as providing some of the most technologically advanced training equipment in the industry, the Strategic Business Line – or SBL – is a leading provider of synthetic military training services. Contracts in progress cover the provision of comprehensive, in-depth synthetic training, extending in some instances over several decades. The SBL provides everything from computer-based training systems and full-flight simulators to complete, networked synthetic environments for simulating large military operations. It can also provide synthetic environments for modelling complicated systems prior to manufacture and in order to enhance complex bids. In Norway, we are working at present with partners to establish a training and simulation service for helicopter personnel in Stavanger. This work is currently in its startup phase. Thales Norway has established a BTC (Battlespace Transformation Centre) at its premises in Oslo. The BTC is fully equipped with physical infrastructure and facilitates simulation of complete operational scenarios and the effects of various items of equipment.  |
